| Description |
| Whole Blood Columns are designed for the separation of cells directly from whole blood. No density gradient centrifugation is required. Cells are magnetically labeled using Whole Blood MicroBeads. Separation is performed using a MidiMACS™, QuadroMACS™, VarioMACS™, or SuperMACS™ II Separator. Optimal flow rates of whole blood samples during cell separation are achieved by a specially developed two-layer column matrix. This matrix consists of ferromagnetic spheres and a small layer of non-magnetic spheres. The matrix is covered with a cell-friendly plastic coating. |
| Applications |
The Whole Blood Column Kit was developed for manual isolation of leukocyte subsets from anticoagulated human whole blood or bone marrow labeled with Whole Blood MicroBeads: The positively selected cells are well suited for further flow cytometric, functional, or molecular analysis. |
